Hello GINYOUTribe! I’m Amelia Kumar from Omaha, and I am officially in a Paw Patrol panic! My little Cole is turning 4 next month, and all he wants is Paw Patrol everything. Which, fine, adorable. But seriously, how many party supplies do I need for a Paw Patrol party for like, 15 kids, plus their parents?

Last year for Kai’s second birthday, we did a simple backyard thing, and I ended up with a mountain of leftover plates and napkins. I tried to reuse some of the generic red and blue stuff from that for Cole’s party, but he spotted it immediately and declared, "No, Mommy! Skye and Chase!" So much for my thriftiness. I'm trying to follow a TikTok recipe for a "pup-tastic" snack mix, but honestly, I never follow recipes exactly, so I'm already improvising.

I’m planning for a Saturday afternoon party, maybe 2-3 hours. I’m thinking cake, some snacks, and juice boxes. Do I need one cup per kid, or two? What about plates for cake vs. snacks? We’re talking paper plates here, nothing fancy. And napkins! My biggest fear is running out of something basic like napkins when everyone’s got frosting on their face. Any seasoned party planners out there have a secret formula for quantities? I’m trying to stick to a budget of around $200 for decorations and disposables, but it feels like everything Paw Patrol branded costs an arm and a leg! Help!

Oh, Amelia, honey, I totally get it! I’m Paisley, also from Omaha, and with five kiddos ranging from 2 to 12, I’ve seen my share of themed party chaos. I remember when Owen turned five, he was obsessed with Octonauts. I swore I had enough plates, but between the cake and the "fish and chips" (goldfish and potato sticks), we ended up scrounging for spare dinner plates from the kitchen for the last few parents. It’s always the parents you forget to count properly!

For 15 kids and maybe 10-12 adults (assuming some parents drop off, some stay), I'd say aim for 25-30 sets of plates and napkins. Better to have too many than too few, especially with little ones. They are notorious for using a new napkin every time they sneeze, or just because they think it’s fun to rip up. And cups, definitely go for one and a half per person if you’re doing juice boxes, maybe even two if you have water as an option too. Kids just set them down and forget which one is theirs!

My little Jude, who’s three, is also obsessed with Paw Patrol right now. I’ve been trying to find some cute Paw Patrol party hats, but I mostly just find generic ones. Have you checked out their [Kids Birthday Party Hats 11-Pack](https://www.ginyouglobal.com/product/11-pack-kids-birthday-party-hats-with-pom/) on GINYOU? They’re pretty good quality for the price. I once bought a huge pack of character hats that were so flimsy they practically fell apart when the kids put them on. What a disaster that was for Stella's fairy party! I probably should have read that article on how many birthday hats do I need for a fairy party before I bought those cheapies.

It's sweet that Cole knows exactly what he wants. My kids always want to help with the decorations, and sometimes it's an "emotional moment" when their carefully placed streamer falls down for the third time. But those are the memories, right? Just breathe and remember it’s about the joy on his face. You got this, mama!

Hey Amelia! Madison here from Raleigh, NC. I totally understand the struggle, especially when you have a theme like Paw Patrol that kids just adore. For my little Piper’s 4th birthday last year, we did a Disney Princess theme, and let me tell you, keeping track of everything for Isla (1), Caleb (2), and Piper (4) and their friends felt like a full-time job. I'm a homeschool mom, so I'm used to planning, but parties are a different beast!

I’m a spreadsheet queen For parties. My secret is making a column for "item," "needed quantity," "bought quantity," and "cost." For disposable plates, I always calculate for 1.5 plates per person for kids and 1 plate per adult, and then I add an extra 5-10 just in case. So for your 15 kids and say, 10 adults (25 people total), I'd aim for 15 * 1.5 = 22.5 plates for kids + 10 plates for adults = 32.5. Round up to 35-40 plates. Sounds like a lot, but it covers spills and seconds!

Napkins, I go even higher – 2 per kid, 1 per adult, plus 10-15 extra. You can never have too many napkins when little ones are involved, especially with frosting! For cups, if you're doing juice boxes, you might get away with just one per kid, but I always have extra generic paper cups on hand for water or if someone loses theirs. Remember that article about how many cups do I need for a farm party? It actually had some good general tips that apply to any theme, not just farm animals!

We found some really cute Paw Patrol decorations on Amazon and at Target, but for plates and napkins, I actually ended up getting solid red and blue ones from Party City and just bought a pack of Paw Patrol character stickers to put on them. Saved a ton, and the kids didn't care one bit! It's little hacks like that that help when you're trying to figure out how many party supplies do I need for a Paw Patrol party without breaking the bank.

One thing I'd do differently next time? I started planning Piper’s party months early, which was great for decorations, but I over-purchased candy for the favor bags thinking I’d get a deal. Turns out, a lot of it was stale by party time! So, fresh perishable items, buy closer to the date. Also, consider the ages. My Isla (1) just ended up playing with a balloon for most of it, not really needing a ton of official "supplies." Good luck, and enjoy that precious 4th birthday!

Hey there, Amelia! Victoria from Milwaukee, chiming in. As an event coordinator for community stuff, and a mom to Asher (3), Isla (7), and Willow (11), I’ve learned a thing or two about stretching a dollar and making sure everyone has what they need without going overboard. You're asking a classic question, how many party supplies do I need for a Paw Patrol party, and it boils down to anticipating little hands and big messes!

For 15 kids plus parents, let's say 25-30 people total. My rule of thumb is usually 1.5-2 plates per person if you’re doing both snacks and cake. So, if you hit up a dollar store or Target for some plain red and blue plates and napkins, you can get away with maybe 40-50 plates and 60-70 napkins. Seriously, don't underestimate the napkin factor! Kids use them for everything from wiping mouths to pretending they're superhero capes.

Cups are tricky. If you're doing juice boxes, and the kids are pretty good about sticking to one, you might be fine with 1 per kid and 1 per adult, maybe an extra 5-10 for backups. But if you're pouring drinks from a pitcher, definitely more. Kids get distracted, set their cup down, and then grab a new one a minute later. I remember for Asher's third birthday, we had a bunch of sippy cups for the little ones, and then regular cups for the older kids and adults. It just streamlined things.

My best advice? Thrift stores are your friend! You can sometimes find perfectly good, unused party supplies, or even just solid-color items that fit the Paw Patrol scheme. I once found a giant red tablecloth that looked brand new for $2 that would have been perfect for a Paw Patrol party. For Asher's party last year, I found some plain blue party hats and just glued on some cheap Paw Patrol stickers I bought online. Way cheaper than branded ones, and the kids were none the wiser. It’s all about the fun, not breaking the bank. Don't stress too much about it, dear. The kids will remember the fun, not if you had an exact Paw Patrol napkin for every spill.
